Ater getting burned a couple of times by rebate games, I now pay more attention to instant discounts taken at the time of purchase (which is common at Costco), or rebates that have more than a few weeks to go before expiration, or offers like they've had at Best Buy and Amazon where you can choose your freebies at the same time you order the qualifying product. I am speaking specifically about the 5 free HD DVD offer. I have been waiting now 13 weeks. I have called each week for the past three weeks and I am told each time "they are ready to ship". But not when they will ship. in addition I was told that AFTER they ship it will take a month to get them. This is pretty common across all products that give this sort of incentive. I am sure the same happens with the BluRay offers but it is no less frustrating. still this offer is pretty sweet with what you get at the time you make the purchase.
