What was the best?

Matthew M stopped by to ask a few questions that have probably been discussed by many at forums and amongst friends, and even around the water cooler.
Don’t know if you get this – 2 questions:
1) After all was said and done, what was the BEST QUALITY HD DVD player made?
2) Did they ever release an HD DVD recorder or burner to make HD DVDR disks? If so, the best one please.
Thank you for your efforts. I always preferred HD DVD over BluRay, the only thing I did not like was the movies released as Combo and not just HD DVD. Most were released both ways somewhere in the world but a few I wanted weren’t, very sad.
Ask what the “best” of something is, and you’ll usually bring up a lot of opinions, sometimes even backed up with evidence. Please share in the comments about what you think the “best quality” HD DVD player was, and the best of the HD DVD burners.

Toshiba HD-A35. I still own it and use it once in a while to watch my HDDVD movies.

The Best HD-DVD player was the Onkyo DV-HD805.
I think LG made a drive that can burn Blu-ray and may be HD-DVD, check this link.

unfortunately, that hddvdburner.com site only describes a few items and does not go into specific details about the three burners listed there.

Check out wikiepedia list..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HD_DVD_devices
It lists all the devices manufactured. Im looking at getting a PC addon on hd dvd burner drive as they are around 60-80$ if you find them right on ebay. Also I bought around 70 HDdvdR disks at TJMaxx sometime ago on sale for only 1 buck a piece…Good luck.

It depends on what You wanna watch, if You have a powerful pc or laptop, XBOX 360 HD DVD PLAYER is the best HD DVD player available, but if You wanna with standalone try searching Toshiba’s products.
