Universal is a big entertainment company. They compete with Disney in a lot of the same ways. For example, they are associated with a TV network (NBC for them vs. ABC for Disney), and they even have theme parks (Universal Studios Tour in Hollywood and Florida). I don’t think they want Disney or anybody else yanking their chain. If Uni decides to do something, even if it’s the same thing as everyone else, I think they still want to make sure they’re going to get their respect.

Universal has a total stick up their ass about blu ray and no one seems to know why. So I would not expect them to jump ship unless they are absolutely forced to.

It looks like good news. I think the most important thing to do is to keep buying movies from all HD DVD studios including Warner Brothers.

I agree. I’m not in denial over the weight of Warner’s decision, but we haven’t had any press conference where the HD DVD group announces they’ve packed up their bags either.

I’d be more for the petition if it was only about “Persuade Warner” and left out the rest of its title.

As for the Save HD Petition, don’t dedicate space to that trash! I have an A-30 with 32 HD-DVDs and can say that supporting petition pages for a format that is alive is almost the same as admitting defeat. Screw those blu-bois! Red is alive and kicking without a petition page on the internet.
