Some Paramount Titles at 60% Off
by Pravin on February 25th, 2008 in shopping.
Amazon has had this 50% off sale for a few weeks now, and lots of websites that are new to covering HD DVD seem to think it’s a fire sale. Just a little bit of investigation would show that this is simply an ordinary sale where many discs are $15, $17 and $20 instead of closer to $30.
However there is a noteworthy development in this sale for this week. It seems that almost two dozen Paramount titles are now 60% off and selling for $11.95. The same titles are selling at DeepDiscount.com for $9.98. There are some pretty good titles in this 60% off club, so take a look and see if there’s anything you might like. All of these links here open in a new browser window that goes to the corresponding Amazon ordering page, and clicking on other links here opens that title in the same new window. You can visit DeepDiscount.com from the link at the end.
- Selected Paramount titles for $10 at DeepDiscount.com
- Amazon 50% off sale on 150 titles that the list above is part of
- 33 Warner titles up to 57% off at Amazon
- Previous post about sales, many of which are still on like these at Amazon and DeepDiscount.com.

This is just a little information for those of us trying to build up our hddvd collection. Columbia House is having a bogo sale on hddvd discs. Although their regular prices are pretty steep on some discs, you should check out what’s available anyway. I personally picked up v for vendetta and the bourne supremacy for a total price of $29.74 Averaging around $15.00 per movie, that’s close to what amazon is charging. So good luck and check it out at columbiahouse.com

I really, really, really hate losing HD DVD, but I have to say that these sales are amazing. I love the fact that I can put up HD DVD players on the shelf as back-up, cheaper than I can buy a standard upconverting DVD player. Not to mention the sale on movies. I have been buying HD DVD’s non-stop since the end of November and except for a couple of new releases, I have not paid more than 14.00 for any hi-def disc. If only WB would add their whole library to the sale or do another 3 for 2 or BOGO.
In my fantasy world, manufacturers and studios will look at the on-going sale numbers for this ‘dead’ format and realize they made a mistake and start reversing their stance, but not before I get every movie and TV show I want at these great prices.

Hey Hddvd world, check this out!! I just purchased an xbox 360 hddvd drive at buy.com for a little under $18.00!! Wanna know how, well here it goes. Buy.com has a special promotion if you apply for their security pin based credit card (REVOLUTION). They are giving $50.00 back instantly in the cart if approved and your purchase is $51.00 or more before taxes and shipping. I put the xbox hddvd player in my cart for $49.99 I also entered girls gone wild part two for $15.00 and some change to bring my total over the $51.00 required amount. Minus the $50.00 instant savings from applying for the revolution card and my total came to a little under $18.00 Don’t forget i also get King Kong in the box and five free by mail. Good Luck!! EveryOne!!
