This is a great week for HD DVD and also Kubrick fans. I remember going to see 2001 in the theater and sitting through the film three times in one day. I have always been disappointed in it on the small screen. I am looking forward to the high def release and seeing it on a wide screen HD Tv and hearing the outstanding score the way it was meant to be heard. This should be as close to seeing in the theater as you are ever likely to get. 2001 was and remains an "event" movie and should be presented in all it's glory. I recommend it very highly to all High Def enthusiasts.
