DeepDiscount.com 20% off Sale on HD DVDs

by Pravin on June 4th, 2008 in shopping.

Many have taken advantage of the $5.99 sale over at iNetVideo these last couple of weeks, and have noticed that a few of the titles over there are no longer $5.99. A few people have been slightly miffed that the iNetVideo discs are Canadian and come with slightly different covers or cases, or that shipping and handling fees bring up the disc cost closer to $9 each.

As June rolls in, prices on HD DVDs at Amazon have also creeped up a little bit. So what’s the HD DVD shopper to do? (no snide remarks about going Blu, ok?) It’s DeepDiscount.com to the rescue, with their big sale, bringing several HD DVD titles down to $8, $9, $10 and $12 a piece, which is at least two to four bucks less than Amazon, and all with free shipping to boot!

Most Universal and Paramount titles are $11.98, but not all of them. It’s better than no sale at all, especially if you don’t have American Gangster and several others.

The sale was supposed to be from June 6 to June 22, however I got an email from them saying it’s already up.

Here’s the best part: use coupon code DDAF to get 20% off. I have read that some people have not had any luck with that code just yet, but give it a try on June 6 and see if it works any better. That means you can get those $11.98 titles for only $9.58!

I’ve also read that these codes might work: SHARK, WGN, DEALNEWS, USATODAY. Please share in the comments if you come across any other coupon codes.

This code does work, I used it last night.

  2. Mark S Says:

This code does work, but just about all
    of their discs are backordered!!!!!!

BTW, iNetVideo.com is promoting free shipping to USA on orders over 49.99. Sale ends this Sunday.

Thanks, I ordered a few including Eastern Promises and Hot Fuzz combo discs and they ended up costing less than $10 each. Most of them are out of stock though. That means the usual super long 2 week delivery for me will prob end up month-long. Inetvideo.com has free shipping, but they jacked up their price on the HD-DVDs and most of the $5.99 movies are crap, so basically… no good.

The DDAF coupon worked at Deep Discount - Just ordered “I am Legend” but I notice in my wishlist that alot of items are discontinued as oppose to out of stock. The popular titles may finally be drying up at DD but I am not sure.

I havent shopped from deepdiscount.com before, my biggest purchase so far was from inetvideo.com just over the weekend.. Do they have more variety or something? Because so far, especially with the extended sale inetvideo is having, it seems like they have a better deal.

With regards to french covers.. Its not like the DVDs come in french, do they? Just one side..

    @ Jay:

The DVDs come in French in addition to English. For example, I bought Mallrats and the title is in English, normal size, and then underneath the title in a smaller font is the title in French. On the back of the DVD case they have one half in English and the other half in French. It’s annoying but it doesn’t affect anything.

Can someone give me their point of view one why this is annoying? As someone who doesn’t find it annoying, just curious.

  9. bigdmelt Says:

I dont know why people get annoyed by this either. Its not like there are english subtitles, and I know you dont sit there and marvel at the cover art. Put the movie in the player. Watch the movie, and then put the movie back up on the shelf.
