If you’ve visited the site before, then you’ll be among those to recognize the new look. I’ve become increasingly familiar with the WordPress platform that the site runs on, and after a few false starts at updating the site’s look and feel, we’ve finally arrived!

The new design is cleaner than what we initially started out with, and it’s friendlier for those of you browsing on wider screens. Go ahead and resize your browser horizontally, and you’ll see what I mean.

After reviewing browsing patterns over the last few months, we’ve added two links that appear to be popular destinations for many of our visitors. There are now links at the top of the page and in the sidebar to help you get your HD DVD movie shopping done, and also for HD DVD players, related hardware, and accessories. Both of these are done via Amazon.com, and yes, like all the other sites that link you to Amazon.com and other retailers, we do get a small referral fee which goes a long way towards keeping my latte habit going, and covers our IT expenses.

The site is also moving to a new server shortly, and you’ll finally be able to start commenting on the postings. I’m sure that some of you have had questions or other points of view regarding my various bits of “wisdom” and you’ll finally get your chance to share your own thoughts. Comments will be moderated mainly to prevent spam, and whether you’re bring critical or supportive, please lay off the curse words and keep this a family show.

The weeks ahead will bring lots of new HD DVD movies, players and other goodies for the HD DVD world, and I’m looking forward to reporting on all of those exciting happenings. You can keep up with the postings very conveniently through our RSS feed. Please come along for the ride — I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!

We’re finally going to enable some long-awaited features such as comments for the various articles so that you can share your responses. A move to a new host has been in the works for a while, and I wanted to keep the move as simple as possible. Since we have no comments or a forum just yet, there’s been no risk about losing any of YOUR writing. Once we make the switch, the site will eventually get a forum where you can start your own HD DVD dicussions and ask questions or share your views with the HD DVD community at large.

Yes, I know the visual theme is simple and plain at the moment. Just like the DVD players based on our namesake, we are still working out a few features and functions. Plenty of big things are in store, so please plan on visiting now and then, or subscribe to the RSS feed.
