BOGO-tastic Savings at Amazon and Best Buy

UPDATE: They’re starting to sell out. The offer now consists of 52 titles to select from instead of 78. Xbox 360 HD DVD Add-On Drive is $159.
It’s time to stock up HD DVD movies for the holidays and beyond! Amazon.com has 78 HD DVD movies in a “Buy One HD DVD and Receive a Second for Free” offer.
You select two titles from the three-page list, and get the cheaper of the two for free. There’s a limit of three of each title per customer. Thanks to Amazon’s usual 30% discount, prices range from $17.95 to $27.95, with a lot of them going for $19.95. Factor in the BOGO savings, and the movies will cost from $9 to $13 each.
Word on the “DVD Talk” forum is that Best Buy has a BOGO in the works for this weekend, but on a much smaller set of movies. Also at Best Buy, High-Def Digest.com reported about four Paramount movie bundles consisting of three movies in each set. Each bundle is $50, which brings each movie to just under $15 a piece. Tyler at FormatWarCentral.com dropped by his Costco in Seattle last week and noticed they were carrying bundles from Universal Studios. We’ll post more information about these movie deals as they come up, and you’re welcome to share in the comments about any deals you’ve found.

You may or not be able to find the HD A30 for $240 w/10 Free HD DVD’s at Amazon. The deal went up yesterday, but I’m not sure if it’s still active.
It’d definitely be worth a look.

Amazon likes to keep shoppers on their toes with their sales that last for a few hours. The player prices have gone up a little bit, but the 10 movies part is still going on. They have a price protection policy in case a price drops after you make a purchase:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=468502#postorder
That should ease any worries about missing out on a $199 or $240 price. The only thing this policy doesn’t help with is if they sweeten the deal to 12 movies or something like that.
Update: Now that I think about it, it’s possible that Amazon’s price protection may only apply if the lower price is not a sporadic one, i.e. one that only applied for a few hours. So maybe it is important afterall to revisit them now and then and wait for the price you’re looking for.

Best Buy’s website lists the HD-A30 at $299.00 and includes the 7 movies (two in the box and 5 free by mail), along
with any 3 movies of your choice from the site.
