Thanks for not fanning the flames of the format war. That kind of talk had been discouraged because every message thread about those kinds of topics ends up repeating the same stuff from any other message thread on the same.

It's unlikely that I'd go rogue and point out anything going wrong with Team Blu because that would really just be bad sportsmanship, sour grapes, etc. and not represent the HD DVD fans very well. Had things worked out in HD DVD's favor, the tone of this site would have been a little more exuberant, but we'd still refrain from insulting the opponents.

What's going to happen to this website? I am a Bluray supporter and have been since day one, but visited this site almost every day to get "the other side" of the story. There have been moments where I wished to place an argument, but I believe it was suggested that "Fan wars" or what-ever hip term is used to describe fanboys (like me) arguing it out, be kept off the message boards. So I obliged. But with the format war over in all ways that matter, I feel a little hint of sadness knowing that this site will not provide counter arguments and entertaining interpretations of news. Think you might go rogue and just blast every little misstep bluray performs along the way? That could be fun. I'd keep reading then.

The rest of the article mentions that it's the Universal titles that "finally" get the big sale prices.

If anyone has a gamestop/eb games around them with a lot of used hd dvd titles, they usually have a buy 2 get 2 free on all dvds. So you can get the higher priced titles that are still 15-20 bucks new online for 10 bucks a piece. I just grabbed 300, V for Vendetta, King Kong, and Constantine for 40 bucks. Just another idea.

Big Sales going on all over. I just picked up The Breach and Bourne Identity for $16 a piece at Best Buy. In the past week I have added 10 titles to my collection and am near 100 movies now. Next step is to get a low priced player for a back up!

Many of the Paramount titles you listed are going for $9.99 at Fry's - in fact - all of those titles are $9.99. Not quite so good with Univrsal titles. Fry's has them going for $14.99 for standard HD DVDs or $19.99 for the combo discs. Best Buy's sales are pretty crappy right now, only offering 30% off of all HD DVD titles in stock. Since Best Buy retails their HD DVDs from $24.99 to $34.99 a title, this comes down to not a real good savings ($17.49 to $24.49 a title ).

I did get a good deal on a new HD-A30 for $65. Ironic that they have good prices on players but not so good prices on movies. Oh well, the ales should keep getting better.

Fire sale galore. I'm surprised so many people want to get rid of their HD DVD movies. I can't believe these HD DVD movies are priced LOWER than their DVD counterparts. Hell even if you want the DVD of the movie you can get these HD DVDs cuz their combo discs.
